IN THE EARLY 2000s, Olive Sherman was on top of the world. As the it-girl of the nineties, she had millions of dollars, worldwide adoration, and a whirlwind romance and subsequent fairytale marriage to actor Ryan Keats. In 2004, Olive and Ryan divorce in the aftermath of back-to-back tabloid scandals, devastating their fans. Angie, a young writer, is one of them. In an attempt to trace where things went wrong, she begins working on a biography of Olive's life. What she uncovers is something that exposes the darkness at the core of the entertainment industry and leaves her wondering if there is a such thing as happily ever after.​​
